Mission Statement

To promote and assist the future education of deserving graduates of Woodlands High School in the Town of Greenburgh, County of Westchester, NY by the award or distribution of scholarships.

Who We Are

In 1961, Board of Education President Charles Snyder realized there were a number of Woodlands High School graduates who failed to go on to college. While academically ready, they could not afford to continue their education. Other members of the community agreed, and thus, the Woodlands High School Scholarship Fund, Inc. was born. This not-for-profit district organization is still vibrant more than 60 years later. Community members still volunteer managing, fund raising and awarding funds to Woodlands High School seniors who apply. The Guidance Department is pivotal in the Fund’s ability to connect with seniors. Awards are based on economic need with an awards ceremony held every June.
